This committee was set up to administer and encourage the provision of technical and vocational education in skills such as cookery, metal work and wood work. Technical classes were established by the provision of capitation grants. These classes would provide young people with vocational and trade skills necessary to gain employment. It was here that young people could be prepared to accredited technical examinations.
