The announcements are marked in pen by William Lamb, and read, "Lamb - June 8, at 1 Wilton terrace, Rathmines, the wife of William Lamb, LLD, of a son." and "Shaw - June 8 suddenly, of heart disease, William Bernard SHaw, Esquire in the 64th year of his age. The funeral will leave The Cottage, Terenure, for Mount Jerome, on tomorrow (Thursday) morning at half past eight o'clock."

This auction was attended by Wiliam Lamb, and he has marked the paintings he purchased. Attached is a note from Francis William Lamb listing the three paintings purchased and the prices paid.
