Sections A-C contain many thousands of invoices, receipts, cash books, quotations and estimates, contracts, journals, wages records, production records and order books, and any other type of record relating to the daily administration of the business (1843- 1994).
Section D is comprised of thousands of incoming letters and a much lesser volume of copy outgoing letters, arranged in sub-series exactly as created: in bundles of alphabetically filed letters, bundles of letters filed by month and year, letterbooks of copy outgoing letters, correspondence arranged by owner, legal correspondence and some smaller files or correspondence with government departments and millers’ associations (1873-1964).
Section E is an artifically created series containing correspondence, statements of account and advice notes relating to the distribution of grain into and out of Belmont Mills (1874-1947).
Section F is an artificially created series of correspondence, receipts, policies and schedules relating to the extensive insurances taken out on the mills and on the lives of the owners (1874-1936).
Section G is an artificially created series containing investment policies, banking receipts and debtors’ bankruptcy papers (1873-1954).
Section H contains posters, labels, signs, and packaging relating to the marketing of Belmont Mills products (c.1900-1950).
Section J contains income tax receipts, personal correspondence, and account books relating to the Church of Ireland, personal household expenses, and Lisderg Farm (1858-1975).

Papers of R.H. Moore

Documents relating to aspects of Moore's life in Banagher. Moore was involved in many committees in the town. These fall into two categories in this collection, namely improvements to the local economy and infrastructure and those that responded to outside events such as the First and Second World Wars. The improvement committees were Banagher Improvement Association/Committee (c.1899-1928), Banagher Fairs and Improvement Committee (1907-1928), Banagher Public Lighting Committee (1907-1912) and Banagher and Lusmagh Farmers Association (1929-1930). The other committees responded to WWI and WWII were The Garrycastle Relief Committee (1914-1915), the War and Pensions Committee (1917-1919) and the Parish Council (1941-c.1945).

Some other organisations mentioned are the Banagher Bicycle Association, the Gaelic League and the Banagher Sacred Heart Sodality which all proved extremely popular.

Newspaper clippings - school, railway and Banagher Great Fair

This scrapbook comprises mostly of pasted in newspaper clippings on a diverse range of topics.
It includes, for example an account of visit to Banagher Boys National School of Rev Dr Monaghan, PP, Dean of Ardagh and Clonmacnoise.
There is a printed petition to Great Southern and Western Railways regarding proposed discontinuance of services from Banagher to Clara, and several published letters relating to promotion of Banagher Great Fair.
Includes also, letter dated 15th May 1906 on the importance of compulsory education and account of the funeral of the Rev. M. J. Moore S. J. in October 1936.

P. Boland - Proceeding with housing scheme

Typewritten letter from Patrick Boland, T. D., Ballycumber, to the Secretary of Banagher Parish Council stating that it has been learned from the County Manager that he intends to proceed with the Banagher Housing Scheme immediately.

Restriction of public lighting

Letter of 26th January 1942 from District Engineer, ESB stating that the restriction of public lighting in Banagher will go ahead 'assuming that Offaly County Board of Health have no objection to this course'.
