Lamb, Francis (1756-1808)

Francis Lamb was born in 1756, in County Cork. He first married Mary Rice (d. 1799), and they had eight children, of whom only James Lamb and John Rice Lamb lived to adulthood. Secondly he married Sarah Duke (d. 1815), and they had four children, of whom three lived to adulthood: Francis Lamb (b. 1805), William Lamb (1803-1823), and Mary Lamb (b. 1807). Francis Lamb died 16 Jan 1808, and was buried in Saint Nicholas Churchyard in Cork City, County Cork.

Francis Adam Johnston Lamb, eldest son of Francis William John Alexander Lamb (1874-1959) and Constance Charlotte Plunkett-Johnston (1876-1959), was born 29 May 1905 in Cardiff, Glamorgan, Wales. He inherrited Woodfield House, Clara Offaly, after the death of his parents in January of 1959. Canon Adam Lamb died 19 June 1989.

Francis William John Alexander Lamb, son of Alice Ann Kerr and William Lamb LLD, was born 8 June 1874.
He studied at Trinity College Dublin where he became a Doctor of Medicine. In 1902 Francis Lamb married Constance Charlotte Plunkett-Johnston. They had three children: Alice Blanche Anna Lamb (20 Sep 1903 - 1932), Reverend Francis Adam Johnston Lamb (29 May 1905 - 19 June 1989), and John George Dalkeith Lamb (b. 19 Aug 1919). Francis Lamb MD died at Woodfield House on 11 January 1959.

Helen Margaret Tobias, eldest daughter of Theodore Cronhelm Tobias (1876-1959) and Eileen Muriel Smith (1886-1984), was born 18 May 1917 at Dawson Street, Dublin. She married John George Dalkeith Lamb (b. 1919) at Saint Michan's Church, Dublin, on 10 May 1952. They had one son, Henry Francis Lamb. After the death of her brother-in-law Canon Adam Lamb on 19 June 1989, Helen and Keith Lamb moved to Woodfield House, Clara, County Offaly. Helen Margaret Lamb died February 2011, and was buried next to her husband, Keith Lamb, at Saint Brigid's Church, Clara, County Offaly.

John Alexander Lamb was the son of John Lamb (b. 1786) and his second wife, Margaret Stroud Horford (d. 1888). He was the cousin of William Lamb LLD. He served as a surgeon in the army and died in 1896.

John George Dalkeith Lamb, second son of Francis William John Alexander Lamb (1874-1959) and Constance Charlotte Plunkett-Johnston (1876-1959), was born 19 August 1919 at Frascati, Blackrock, County Dublin. On 11 November 1946 he graduated from Trinity College Dublin with his Bachelors in Agricultural Science. On 16 January 1950 he graduated from Trinity College Dublin with his PhD in General Agriculture. Doctor Keith Lamb married Helen Margaret Tobias (1917-2011) on 10 May 1952, at Saint Michan's Church, Dublin. They had one son, Henry Francis Lamb. After the death of his brother Canon Adam Lamb on 19 June 1989, Helen and Keith Lamb moved to Woodfield House, Clara, County Offaly. Keith Lamb died in January 2011, and was buried 1 Feb 2011 at Saint Brigid's Church, Clara, County Offaly.
