From Séamus Ó Braonáin to his wife, Máiréad: 'Cong Co. Mayo, A Mháiréad dhíl, came down in boat from Galway today here 25 miles thro' Lough Corrib. Lovely scenery but day wet & rough. Held here tonight as boat was too late to return. Just going to see Cong Abbey where King Roderick O'Connor & several saints are buried. Headford about 5 or 6 miles from here. Beannacht Dé libh.
