Letter of 5th February notes 'we would recommend putting down the Electric Lighting Station at a convenient position in the town and generating electricity by means of a gas engine'. Ms letter of J McCarthy, Secretary of Swinford Rural District Council in response to queries regarding the installation of Electric Lighting in Swinford County Mayo.
